Not the best in the series, but still fun.Ī treasure map may lead to an amazing find, though it won't be enough on its own. I found it a little slow in the beginning as the book seemed to struggle with finding the main plot, but it ended up being worth it in the end. With that said, intermediate readers often enjoy that kind of stortytelling. It struggles a bit from being a little too much more of the same, coming across as a bit formulaic. This was an interesting addition to the Treasure Hunters series. the real question is whether they can find the city in time. They have every intention of turning over the gold found in Paititi to the Peruvian government in order for it to help purchase land to protect the region's rainforests. The book takes on an interesting twist as readers learn more about the ultimate goals of the family Kidd for this mission. The twins Bick and Beck take readers through the story as each of the family members contributes in their own special way to solve the mystery and also avoid death from both the setting and the evil people out to get them. This time, they will find themselves drawn to Peru, where they will be challenged by most of their past nemeses as they search for the lost Incan city of Paititi. The Kidd family of treasure hunters are back for another adventure. “What is most amazing is not how our senses span distance or cultures, but how they span time. The Whaley House, a historic San Diego home where visitors claimed to have encountered ghostly apparitions and heard disembodied voices, is the subject of this week’s episode. It was a mild encounter with what Holzer speculated was a mischievous spirit, certainly less hair-raising than the goings-on that Hans Holzer, who died in 2009 at age 89, spent decades investigating and some of which are revisited in the new Travel Channel series, “The Holzer Files” (10 p.m. Labeled a hit-and-run, Holly's husband passed before her eyes and the solution provided by Evan is more money than she's ever seen before, a beautiful home, and a safe neighborhood for her daughter. It suits the tone of the story, to be honest. The illustrations are simple and cartoonish, but still good. This is a good graphic novel for readers who enjoy the occasional fun read like Simon vs. It's a really cute story but, as a person who generally prefers "tense" and "gritty" over "cute" reads, it's not too saccharine as to be unbearable. I'm not exaggerating when I say books like this really do restore a little of my faith in humanity. |
